Kid Rock Comedy Central Roastee

Kid Rock

Self-assessed “American Bad Ass” and recent NAACP honoree Kid Rock is set to join the likes of Donald Trump, Bob Saget, David Hasselhoff, and even ex-wife Pamela Anderson as Comedy Central next Roastee! The Kid from The Motor City will be subjected to a barrage of brutal jokes about his long hair and fedora when the Comedy Central Roast of Kid Rock tapes on Sunday, Aug. 14.

The rock-rap impressario rose prominence after releasing his debut album, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, in 1990. Since then, Kid’s released eight more albums and amassed five Grammy nominations. His latest disc, Born Free, ranked No. 16 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 30 Best Albums 2010.

“During Kid Rock’s illustrious career as a performer, there has yet to be a single audience that could prepare the five-time Grammy nominee for the vicious onslaught of sharp barbs that will be thrown his way when he takes center stage for the ‘Comedy Central Roast of Kid Rock,’” the network said in a news release this morning.
